Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds secreted by cannabis flowers that provide relief to an array of symptoms. Cannabinoids work by imitating compounds our bodies naturally produce, called endocannabinoid, which activate to maintain internal stability and health.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER? (ENTOURAGE EFFECT)

HUMAN ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM 

The most well-known cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, are proteins that are embedded in the membrane of cells.  These surface proteins are then attached to another protein that determines the signaling direction activation or inhibition

 

CB1 Receptors are found in the brain, central nervous system, and other tissues throughout the body.

CBl Receptors affect: 

  • Appetite 

  • Immune cells 

  • Motor activity 

  • Motor coordination 

  • Pain perception 

  • Short term memory 

  • Thinking

CB2 Receptors are  primarily found in the peripheral organs, especially in cells associated with the immune system.
